I’m Shweta Uttam, the creative force and visionary behind Bonne Blanche, a brand that embodies elegance, innovation, and timeless style. With an enriching experience of 19 years in the fashion industry, I have cultivated a unique design philosophy that seamlessly blends contemporary trends with classic sophistication.

My Journey

My journey in the world of fashion and design has been both diverse and fulfilling. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with renowned brands such as Lucio Castro, Getaways NYC, Luisa et la Luna, Talwarsons, Fab India, Pearl Global, Zara, and Calvin Klein. Each of these experiences has contributed to my expansive knowledge and deep understanding of both the creative and commercial aspects of the fashion industry.

At Bonne Blanche I bring a multifaceted approach to my work. My expertise lies not only in crafting visually stunning and innovative designs but also in strategizing and executing effective marketing campaigns that resonate with our audience. My background in working with diverse brands has equipped me with the ability to understand and cater to a wide range of consumer needs and preferences.

My Work Experience

I began my career studying at NIFT, India and then began my journey with ITC Ltd Wills Sport and John Players, where I contributed significantly to trend board development, style sketches, fabric development, and merchandising. Following this, I moved to Raymond Apparel Ltd, focusing on relaunching Park Avenue and Parx. I designed day, club, and resort lines, collaborated with key Indian mills, and worked closely with vendors and fabricators on garment developments.

My career advanced with roles at Li & Fung Pvt Ltd and Pearl Global Ltd, where I developed and marketed collections for major brands such as JC Penney, Macy’s, and Zara. During my tenure at Li & Fung, I traveled extensively for research, design presentations, and client meetings, working with European retail brands and department stores. At Pearl Global Ltd, I developed detailed washes, print graphics, and embroidery ideas for men's and boys' ranges. My experience also includes working with Triburg Sportswear, handling design and product development for renowned brands like Armani Exchange, Calvin Klein Jeans, and Guess, where I innovated various wash techniques and collaborated with international vendors and fabric mills.

For the past 11 years, I have been with Shoolin Design Consultancy, designing and sourcing for boutique buyers in New York and New Zealand. I have worked on high-profile projects, including designing for Lucio Castro, Getaways NYC, Luisa Et la Luna, and A Peace Treaty. My role involves trend forecasting, style direction, and participation in prestigious events like Premiere Vision in Paris and New York. Additionally, I have handled design and development for Fab India, styled ad campaigns for Talwarsons and Khurana Sons Jewelers, and worked on uniforms for Eye Q eye hospitals. My extensive experience in design, product development, and client engagement continues to drive my passion for the fashion industry.
